Team-Up for Youth is a nonprofit that strengthens the quality of after-school sports programs in the Bay Area. We are committed to realizing the potential of sports to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people in low-income communities. Yet, too few of our children have access to quality sports programs. So we’re reshaping the landscape of youth sports through volunteer coaches, training, and our public policy work. We're working to to create a world in which all kids have sports opportunities that teach valuable life lessons.

Description:
We help create after-school sports opportunities for girls and boys that build their confidence and skills, connect them to mentors and improve their prospects in school and in life.

From getting the ball rolling to pushing it farther and faster, we work with partners and experts in the youth sports, health, education and policy fields to create real access, quality and equality in the after-school sports arena.

We partner with after-school sports programs, offering a range of supports—training, consulting, and Coaching Corps volunteer coaches—that help more young people learn the important life lessons sports offer.

We dedicate special initiatives to building community through sports and supporting equal opportunities for girls to participate in and benefit from sports.

We work with policymakers and sports stakeholders to create public awareness and support legislation that supports after-school programs for low-income youth.
