Friends Of The Walnut Creek Library
The Friends of the Walnut Creek Library is a community-based membership organization that supports library collections, services and programs.
Description:
Through membership donations and book sale earnings, the Friends provide the Walnut Creek Downtown Library with new books, magazines and equipment. We also provide children's and cultural programs for the community. Our Bookstore volunteers work three-hour shifts either weekly or biweekly. It is an enjoyable opportunity to provide low cost materials to visitors of all ages!
History:
The Friends of the Walnut Creek Library was organized in 1956 to support the Walnut Creek Downtown Library. We formerly operated a bookstore in the downtown Walnut Creek library called Back Room Books. Now that the new library is under construction, we operate an interim bookstore at 1910 Olympic Boulevard, Suite 120. Bookstore hours are Mondays - Saturdays, 10 am to 4 pm.
