It is the purpose of the Walnut Festival Association, a non-profit corporation to: Raise funds for distribution to educational, recreation, artistic, civic, and charitable causes. To provide a vehicle for other non-profit organizations to raise funds for their redistribution throughout the year. To produce quality events for the benefit of the residents of Walnut Creek and the surrounding areas, and to foster a sense of community involvement.

The Walnut Festival Association organizes many events throughout the year. These include: Crab Feed- January Art on the Main- May Twilight Parade- September Walnut Festival- September We also volunteer at the following events: Spring Breakfast at Heather Farm Santa/ Holiday Breakfast at Heather Farm We need volunteers to help coordinate these events. Such help includes:
Registering Parade entries on Parade day Parade Marshals Marking the streets for art show & parade Block captain for Art show Helping backstage with Entertainment at the Walnut Festival Setting up the grounds for Walnut Festival Helping answer phones during the Festival week Help in the office during the Festival week Helping in Walnut Festival Booth Helping with the flow of the parade entries Helping at Spring & Santa pancake breakfast Helping with Crab Feed Be a part of the planning of any of our events
History:
For well over half a century, the non-profit Walnut Festival Association has attracted the most dedicated volunteers, from all walks of life, who join together to serve Contra Costa County by raising funds through community events. The money raised from these annual family entertainment events is donated back into the community to support recreational, cultural, and educational programs and facilities. The Walnut Festival Association events also provide a means for service and charitable groups to raise money to support their specific organizations. The support of community minded businesses makes it possible for the Walnut Festival Association to maximize the amount of funds available for reinvestment in our community, enhancing the quality of life for everyone. Such involvement on the part of local businesses demonstrates a dedication to a partnership with the community that is appreciated by all.
