To establish equal access for bikes on the public trails of Marin County.
Description:
Access4Bikes also encourages environmental stewardship and conservation of trails and Open Space, along with their parent organization, Bicycle Trails Council of Marin. Active trail work through volunteers has been accomplished in China Camp, Tamarancho, the Rim Tahoe Trail and together with the Tahoe National Forest, in and around Downieville and Forest, CA. Access4Bikes works with local agencies and organizations to promote good stewardship of the land.
History:
Access4Bikes filed for their non-profit status 7 years ago, and since then has been active with the public, county supervisors, Open Space and all jurisdictions for the rights of equal access for bikes and trail rights in Marin County. Access4Bikes Board members and volunteers attend necessary meetings, workshops, conventions and events to further understanding and good relations between all user groups. Accss4Bikes also promotes good will throughout the community with events that highlight bicycle recreation and advocacy.
