Generally an acute care hospital with distinct part skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center.
History:
Founded in 1866, originally as an Almshouse, Laguna Honda Hospital has a tradition of meeting the public health needs of San Francisco. Laguna Honda became a fully functioning hospital in the early 1900s. Rehabilitation services were added in the 1950s. Long-term care services for San Franciscans with HIV-AIDS were developed in the 1980s. Laguna Honda Hospital will be transitioning into a new state-of-the-art facility in the Spring of 2010.
