PLEASE NOTE: The City of Oakland has a policy of rewarding volunteers with complimentary parking in Lakeside Park. Advise the Parking Kiosk Attendant that you will be volunteering at the Lakeside Garden Center with HandsOn Bay Area. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST PARK BY THE SAILBOAT CLUBHOUSE AT 568 BELLEVUE AVE. Please consider mass transit if possible.
From Berkeley
º Take 580 to the Grand Avenue Exit.
º Turn right onto Grand Avenue and go through about 4 stoplights
º Turn left at the 5th light onto Bellevue Avenue (a one way street, you will be entering Lakeside Park so look for the "Children's Fairyland" sign at the park entrance)
º If you pass Harrison Ave. you've gone too far
º Follow Bellevue as it curves around by the Garden Center.
º You may park along Bellevue Ave.
From Fremont
º Take 880 to 580 to the Harrison St. exit (Just past grand / lakeshore exit) Turn left and cross freeway
º Go downhill to stoplight at Bay Place, turn left
º Keep in right lane
º Turn left onto Grand Avenue; get in right lane
º Turn right onto Bellevue Avenue a one way street (You will be entering Lakeside Park). look for the "Children's Fairyland" sign at the park entrance)
º Follow Bellevue as it curves around by the Garden Center.
º Please park by the Sail Boat Club House, 568 Bellevue Ave.
