Students of the Gardening Program of Mt. Diablo Adult Ed., Boy Scouts, Contra Costa Master Gardeners, and all other interested volunteers are teaming up with the City of Pleasant Hill to create a beautiful and water conserving garden at the Pleasant Hill Education Center near Pleasant Hill Middle School. It will serve as a demonstration garden using healthy gardening, water conservation, recycling methods and drought tolerant plantings. The garden will be used for educational and recreational purposes for school and community members. Volunteers will be asked to do a variety of tasks: Mix soil, dig basins, spread compost, weeding, building bridges and raised beds, design and construct benches, arbors, tool sheds.
