YEAH! is Berkeley’s only shelter for youth ages 18-25 that are living on the streets. Together we can create a community, where young people who are homeless will have a safe and warm place to sleep, home cooked dinners and breakfasts, counseling and a community so that they can begin to move beyond their current situation. Volunteers are involved with our organization in a variety of ways. We offer morning, evening, overnight opportunities to meet our needs as well as the needs of our youth. The following volunteer opportunities are offered at YEAH!; we also welcome your creative suggestions for ways you or your organization may be involved to enhance our services. Servers: Assist staff and volunteers in operating the transitional youth shelter program, YEAH! by serving warm or cold meals, washing dishes and interacting with youth. Morning (6:00-8:15) and evening (7:45-10:00) needed. Cooks: Volunteers are needed to cook dinners for 40 youth either on or off site. Site cooks are needed from 6:00 - 8:00 pm to prepare the meal (recipe and ingredients provided). Those that would like to cook off site need to have dinner at YEAH! by 7:45 (recipe and ingredients not provided). This is a great opportunity for groups.
