Help represent Girls on the Run at various races, open houses, volunteer fairs, information sessions, and other outreach opportunities in the community. We need people who are outgoing and passionate about our work. Girls on the Run is a life-changing non-profit running program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade to help build self esteem. Our mission is to educate and build confidence in young girls by providing non-competitive, curriculum-based running programs. We work with schools in San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa and San Mateo Counties. Members of our outreach team can choose to get involved in many ways! Like to run local races? Wear our t-shirt, rally some friends, and promote GOTR just by showing up! You can be the captain for "Team Girls on the Run" participation in race events: select races to attend, publicize them on our website, facebook, and newsletters, bring t-shirts and loads of team spirit to the actual event and run to represent Girls on the Run! Reach out to your neighborhood and company contacts! If you're a member of school or company newsletters, we can send you information to post about our events. Have a couple of friends and a free afternoon? Pick a main street in your neighborhood and take a dozen posters. Ask the business owners if they'll allow you to post one! We also need reliable people to represent GOTR at race booths, event fairs, etc. Examples of events we go to are the US Half marathon, the Marin Triathlon, Crissy Field on Sundays, and more!
We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, communicative, and reliable. All volunteers will meet with Natalie, the Volunteer Coordinator, to get oriented to Girls on the Run and learn to answer frequently asked questions. This opportunity is sponsored by: Girls On The Run Of The Bay Area
