Help serve limited English speakers by assisting BayLegal with much needed interpreter and/or translation assistance. Opportunities include assisting with client meetings, translating legal documents and community education materials, etc. BayLegal's mission is to provide high free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals in the Bay Area regardless of language, disability and location. Example: Domestic Violence Survivor from Guatemala needs assistance with obtaining civil protective order, custody of her children and applying for immigration relief which will provide her with long-term independence and security to allow her to escape the abuse and create a safe environment for her children. OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE THROUGH THE BAY AND VIRTUALLY.
Fluency in one of needed languages: Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Vietnamese. Fluency in legal terms not necessary. This opportunity is sponsored by: Bay Area Legal Aid
